The RDKB is seeking applications to fill a certified Water/Wastewater Operator 1 or 2 on a temporary, full-time basis at the Columbia Pollution Control Centre in Trail, BC, for a one year term.
Reporting to the Chief Operator, the Water/Wastewater Operator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the wastewater treatment facility, pumping stations and collections system. This position will suit an Operator who is conscientious, with the awareness of and ability to respond to subtle changes in plant processes and its corresponding related infrastructure.
To be successful in this position, applicants must possess Wastewater Treatment Plant or Collections Operator Level I or II certifications (WTP or WWC Level I or II) through the Environmental Operator Certification Program (EOCP). The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week (5 x 8 or 4 x 10) and will be required to participate in the on-call program on a rotating basis.
This is a unionized position, making it entitled to overtime should additional hours be requested.
