The RDKB is seeking applications to fill a permanent full-time Equipment Operator position at the Boundary Facilities.
The Equipment Operator will report to the Chief Operator - Equipment & Maintenance, and is responsible for the operation of and daily servicing of any heavy equipment involved in the operations of the solid waste, recycling, and composting portion of the environmental services department. Equipment Operators are cross-trainrd to complete a broad range of duties, as assigned.
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- Minimum 19 years of age
- Possess a valid Class 1 BC Driver's License with air endorsement
- Minimum of five years Class 1 driving and wheel loader experience
- Equipment operation and hauling experience consisting of, but not exclusive of, wheel loader, excavator, trash compactor, hook-lift truck, equipment hauling, and horizontal wood grinder.
- Certifications (preferred at hiring or successful candidates must attain within first year) for Landfill Operations Basics (LOB), Certified Compost Facility Operations, Asbestos Awareness, Working in Confined Spaces, WHMIS, and Level 1 Occupational First Aid.
