The RDKB is seeking applications to fill a temporary, full-time Human Resources & Safety Coordinator position. This position is designed to assist in the delivery of full-spectrum HR and OHS systems and programs across the organization. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, this position works primarily from the Trail Administration Office, and travel to other work sites is a requirement of the role. 

 

The Human Resources & Safety Coordinator will provide operational and administrative human resources and occupational health and safety support services to all departments throughout the region. The incumbent will support effective labour relations through recruitment, collective agreement interpretation and HR systems administration. On the safety side, the Coordinator will play a key role in the implementation, administration and continued improvement of OHS programs, as well as conduct investigations and risk assessments, and coordinate corporate safety training opportunities. The role will suit developing HR and Safety professionals with strong administrative skills who enjoy diversity in their work, building collaborative working relationships and finding effective HR, LR and OHS solutions. 

 

This is a 1 year full-time, benefitted contract position to provide coverage while the permanent incumbent is covering a parental leave (May 2025 - May 2026). To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field such as Business, Psychology or similar
  • Recognized OHS qualifications such as a diploma, CRSP certification or similar
  • 3 years’ experience providing labour relations, OHS and administrative work (all 3 preferred)
  • Previous experience working in a complex, multi-unionized environment
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply the Workers Compensation Act, Labour Relations Code, Human Rights Code and the Employment Standards Act.
  • Sound knowledge of human resources, labour relations and occupational health and safety best practices.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

Position Information

Status: Full Time, Temporary (1 year)

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week 

Salary: $78,000 - $87,000 annually (2024 rates)
