RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ATTENDANT

SEASONAL, FULL TIME - GRAND FORKS RECREATION

 

The RDKB is currently seeking applications to fill a seasonal, full-time Recreational Facilities Attendant position located in Grand Forks, BC, reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. The work season typically begins in late August and ends in late April, and will require a minimum of 20 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will receive year-round benefits upon completing probation.

The Recreation Facilities Attendant participates in the operation, cleaning, and maintenance of the Grand Forks recreation facilities. Work primarily takes place at the Jack Goddard Arena, but may also include work at the Grand Forks Aquatic Centre, and other facilities owned or serviced by the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary in the greater Grand Forks area. As an RFA, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the care and maintenance of ice and facilities, ensuring a safe, enjoyable environment for all visitors. This is a role of increased responsibility where candidates work independently or as a team to work in line with set procedures and standards, which may include working alone at times.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Ice Facility Operator (IFO) Certificate
  • Preferred provincial or other vocational or professional certification, degree, or designation:
    • Refrigeration Operator (RO) Certificate
    • Occupational First Aid Level 1 or equivalent
    • Class 5 BC Driver’s License
    • WHMIS Certificate
    • Building Service Worker 1 (Custodial Training)
    • Related Power Mobile Equipment training
  • Must complete satisfactory Criminal Record Check
