The RDKB is seeking applications to fill 1 casual Landfill Attendant position at the McKelvey Creek Landfill in Trail, BC. 

Landfill Attendants report to the Landfill Supervisor and are responsible for monitoring and controlling use of the landfill sites in line with legislation and RDKB requirements. They monitor site activities, assess loads, collect and process fees and assist users to properly dispose of materials. This position will suit applicants with cash handling and computer skills who enjoy working with the public to provide a vital service to our community.

The casual position is an on-call position and may work between 0 and 40 hours per week to cover staff absences including vacation leave, sick leave and other leaves as required. Shifts are typically on weekends, but can occur any day of the week.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• Grade 12/GED plus 1-12 months related work experience
• An equivalent combination of training and experience
• Current Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
• Knowledge of safe work procedures
• Keyboarding, cash handling and basic office equipment experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers
