LANDFILL ATTENDANT

TEMPORARY FULL-TIME - ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

McKelvey Creek Landfill

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary invites qualified applicants from within the Bargaining Unit CUPE Local 2254 to apply for temporary full-time Landfill Attendant position in the Environmental Services department for work at the McKelvey Creek Landfill to cover an approved leave of absence.

DUTIES:

The duties, reporting structure and required qualifications are as per the attached Job Description.

SALARY:

This is a benefitted position and offers a rate of pay of $29.97 per hour (2025 rates). 

WORK TERM:

This is a temporary contract to cover a permanent worker on an approved leave of absence. The term is fixed ending December 1, 2026. 

This may be a good opportunity for qualified casual and part-time employees who have availability to work the set schedule. The successful candidate will return to their current position/status at the end of the term.

HOURS OF WORK:

20.5 hours per week, including:

• Sunday 8:15am - 4:45pm
• Monday 9:30am - 3:30pm
• Tuesday 9:30am - 3:30pm

Additional shifts may be available to cover other Landfill Attendants on leave.
