The RDKB is seeking applications to fill the permanent, full-time Procurement/Contract Coordinator position. This is a new position, developed to provide coordinated purchasing and procurement processes and contract monitoring for all services under the Environmental Services department umbrella. The role is based at the Trail Administration Office but will also participate in site visits on occasion.

 

Under the direction of the General Manager of Environmental services, this position will coordinate all elements of procurement processes and contracts, from the preparation of tenders, RFPs, RFQs or other competitive processes, through to preparing contracts and agreements, award recommendations and ongoing conformance and compliance tasks. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with team members and other Departments, as well as ensure effective record keeping and tracking to ensure consistent, compliant and effective delivery of services across the Regional District. The position will also involve preparing reports, reviewing invoices, developing and implementing professional templates and processes and other procurement and contract best practices.

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline such as Supply Chain Management, Commerce or Accounting
  • A minimum of five (5) years related experience in a Purchasing and/or Contract Coordinator role
  • Recognized procurement certification (SCMP, CPP or similar)
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
  • Direct experience in procurement and contract coordination for environmental services such as solid waste management, utilities, mosquito control and invasive plant control considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

Position Information

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 35-37.5 hours per week (winter/summer schedule)

Union: CUPE Local 2254

Compensation: $41.83/hour (2024 rates)
