Summer Parks Program Leaders

The RDKB is currently seeking applications to fill five (5) Summer Parks Program Leaders in Beaver Valley, BC. Running from June 24 to August 9, 2024, our Leaders will work Monday to Friday from 9:30am – 3:30pm to plan and supervise the Beaver Valley Summer Parks Program for Fruitvale, Montrose and Area A children aged 6-11.

Reporting to the Program Service Coordinator (BV), the Leaders will plan and prepare activities and crafts for children aged 6-11. Duties will also include planning field trips and events, arranging supplies and ensuring child safety.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual who possesses initiative. They’ll enjoy working with children, leading the group and having fun. Ideally, candidates will be outgoing yet patient and demonstrate strong communication skills to work with children, parents and co-workers alike.

This is an excellent summer job for anyone looking to spend time outdoors, work in recreation and serve our local community.

Selection Criteria for these positions:

  • Must be between the ages of 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the work period, for funding reasons.
  • Priority given to students looking to further their education working with youth.
  • Familiar with computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic First Aid, CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certificates preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Satisfactory criminal record check.
